UPDATE: God has graciously supplied all the money needed for the trip. Thank you God and thank you to those of you whom God used.

In July of 2012 Stephanie and I will travel with a group from Silent Word Ministries to Las Vegas to participate in an evangelistic outreach at DeafNation World Expo. This is the second time this world-wide gathering of Deaf will take place in Las Vegas. The last time there were more than 20,000 Deaf who flooded the convention center and roamed the streets of Las Vegas. The opportunities to hand out Gospel literature and share the truth of the Bible were all around us. We are thrilled about doing it again this summer.

We are given freedom to share our faith with Deaf from many countries. In the week of July 28 to August 4 we are presented with the great responsibility of sowing the seed of God’s Word in the lives of precious souls who may never have a chance to learn the Gospel in their own country.

Will you partner with us to help make the trip to Las Vegas possible? The trip will cost $2400 for both of us to attend. That includes travel and expenses for the trip. All donations are tax deductible. Those who already support us are welcome to participate. If you are not a regular supporter of our ministry, this is a great opportunity for you to be involved in a tremendous event. Any donation, small or large, is helpful.

Besides financially supporting the trip we also covet prayers for our team. Once the event gets started we will spend many hours each day handing out tracts and DVDs with the Gospel. There is no restriction on sharing the Gospel directly with those we meet. It really is an open opportunity to present Christ. Because of that we know the devil will fight our efforts. Please pray that we will be safe physically, mentally and spiritually while we are in a city that is known for its lack of moral standards.

One of the men from the team sent out a recent letter with his prayer requests for the trip. I want to share those with you as well.

Specific prayer requests are as follows:

1. traveling mercies for the three of us from Tucson as we drive to and from Las Vegas
2. traveling mercies for the majority of team members who will be flying to Las Vegas
3. effective witnessing opportunities
4. preparation of hearts by the Holy Spirit and souls to be saved
5. a true servant’s attitude among all team members
6. health and stamina (especially for the street witnessing teams in the heat)
7. spiritual protection and strength to present a good testimony for our Lord
